Volunteering in the Philomath School District
Thank you for your interest in volunteering in our schools. We rely on our volunteer force for many activities throughout the year, including everything from reading with students, helping with art or science activities, field trips, drama and choir, organizing the student directory, and much more. We couldn't do it without you!
To volunteer in the Philomath School District, parents are asked to fill out the Volunteer Application packet, including acknowledging that volunteers are screened through a background check, and filling out the Criminal History Verification of Applicants form. The packet may be returned to any school or the district office (1620 Applegate Street). The forms are processed with the Oregon Department of Education twice monthly, so results can take up to 3 weeks to complete.
Parents are screened once every three years and buildings are notified of volunteers that have cleared the process.
