Mr. Thompson's Fifth Grade Class

Tuesday (May 7): Today we continued to review all of the math we have done this year in preparation for the upcoming OAKS Test. We also did some creative writing and some presentations from our social studies project we had been working on in small groups! The presentations went well and Mrs. Golston even sat and listened to a couple of them. I did not send home any homework tonight, so spelling and literture circle reading is all they have to work on. Tomorrow is the semi-finals for the spelling bee! The fifth graders should be on stage around 10:00!

Wednesday (May 8): We started the OAKS testing today. We began with the math part mainly because I was excited to see how they do. So far the results have been very positive! We worked some more on writing their stories today in preparation for them "grading" each others' (hopefully tomorrow.) The spelling bee was also today and the students in our class did very well and I am very proud of each of them! Spelling packets are due on Friday!
