Today the class continued their work on long division working on page 340 (4th) and 420 (3rd), we also discussed figurative language, had writer's workshop, played math baseball, had fluency reading, and music. The class also read Science Studies Weekly and discussed cells and organisms. We did short answer and math extentions together, and students completed the multiple choice quiz independently.
**** Coming home today are permission slips for the Knights baseball game/science discovery (6/4) and the bike trip to Avery Park (6/13). We will also be going to PEAK Elite for a class positive action party next Thursday (5/30).

Today the class worked on long division as a group, and then in partners completing #1-15 on page 336 in the fourth grade math book. They also took their weekly math minute quiz, read a mystery together, then worked on their books individually, did individual reading assessments, and had P.E.

Today we continued working on long division (page 414 for 3rd grade, page 331 for 4th), worked on book report posters for reading groups, did fluency reading, and had music. Fourth grade read about the South together in social studies (pages 199-221) and third grade read Storytown and answered questions (page 354, questions on page 371). We also wrote silly side by side poems.

Today the class took their spelling pretest, did journal and handwriting, worked on book report posters, and worked on long division (page 409 for 3rd grade, 327 for 4th). The class began reading mysteries (they will read 3 in the next month), had fluency reading, wrote poetry, and had P.E.
4th graders have a science homework assignment coming home today. This is in lieu of current event the next 2 weeks and spelling next week. The assignment is due Wed. June 5th. Their state reports are due next Friday (5/31).
3rd grade inventions are due this Friday (5/24).

Today the class took their spelling test, wrote Friday reflections, had music, took their x 8 multiplication test, math minute, and shared current events. Students shared and discussed what they have been reading, had library, passed out papers, and attended the fifth grade instrumental/middle school choir (and flash mob) concert.

Today the class played math Jeopardy to review some measurement concepts and conversions and then took the chapter test. We later went over the test and students used their books and neighbors to correct their tests for partial credit. The class also played math baseball, rewrote nursery rhymes for poetry, and had P.E. Fourth graders built terrariums, which they will be monitoring the next two weeks (and assuming their level of water is correct-seeing the water cycle in action). Third graders read about marketing in the Storytown books and made advertisements for their own inventions (due a week from tomorrow).

Today the class ran through the program, had dress rehearsal, and watched the second grade dress rehearsal. We also did handwriting, wrote and shared limericks for poetry, and had work time to end the day.
Tonight students (except cast members: Cole-5:30 pm, Marlee, Graycie, and Devn-5:00 pm) should be in the classroom at 7:15 pm. The program begins at 7:30 pm.

Today the class had play rehearsal, did math review for measurement ( 4th-page 391 #1-19 and 3rd-page 472 #1-25), read Scholastic News together, wrote lanterne poems, wrote journal, read Science Studies Weekly independently, and had P.E.

Today the class took their spelling test, worked on metric conversions (9-7), had rehearsal for the play, and had music. The class wrote Hink Pinks for poetry, and the "Harry Potter" and "Witches" reading groups finished their books. Fourth graders read about the northeast region of the United States and answered questions in their social studies book (pages 143-161) and third grade read Storytown and answered questions (pages 328-343).
Coming home today are correspondence sheets, spelling, and current event.
Inventions (3rd grade) are due Next Friday (3/24) and state reports (4th grade) Friday May 31st.

Today the class took their spelling test, wrote Friday reflections, had rehearsal for the program, and P.E. They also did fluency reading, passed out papers, played math baseball, had auction, and had a guest speaker from the Heartland Humane Society come in. We also watched a movie made by the OSU Forestry Department about scientific inquiry and a logging/wildlife habitat. The class then took a pop quiz and discussed it.
