US-B-Tri#3 Decades Projects
Students will select a group to work with during this project, and then each group will "draw" for a decade. Group presentations are expected to fill 90 minutes, over 2 class periods, meeting the criteria listed below & discussed in class. Below is a copy of the hand out concerning what to cover, how to cover the material, and in genera,l what is expected.
Decades presentations will begin in mid May and will be presented from the earliest decade assigned to the latest.
THERE ARE NO MAKE UP DATES. PLAN AHEAD!
Class presentation and a visual display.
Presentation- Teach the class about your decade. These are some of the areas that need to be included (more can be added by the presenters):
- Music
- Dress / Fashions
- Foods/ Eating habits
- Education
- Recreation
- Technology / Inventions / Discoveries
- Sports
- Prices and Wages
- Entertainment
- Famous/important trials/court cases
- Politics / Elections
- Labor and Business
- Dance
- Headlines of the Decade-actual headlines from the decade
- Disasters (natural and man made)
Important people and events of the decade are peppered throughout the above topic areas. At the end of the presentation summarize important people and events.
Other Presentation Requirements:
- Dress appropriately for the time period.
- Provide a sample of a popular food(s) of the time period.
- Lead the class in an activity popular during the decade.
- Era video clip
- Cover major topics of the era
- Must use a variety of resources (one complete list/per decade to turn in).
- Visual aids-besides "stand alone".
- Summarize the decade before ending your presentation

Did the presentation / presenters meet the requirements and how well?
Characteristics covered and how well.

DUE DATES: Presentations begin May 21 & are presented chronologically. Each presentation should be 90 minutes long, but you have 2 full class periods for your presentation. Day 2 should be centered around your activity & era video.
